Operas, high tea and visions of Christmas break. Things seem to be going well for young Josephine in Philadelphia.

Letter from Lois Jean arrives. Effects of the war seem to be felt less here with movies, shopping, and formals being the highlight of the day. Communities of family were quite common during this time as referenced by the comment of 4 Frank families living all in a row.
