It surprised me to see that Pat got a letter on July 4th which we know is a Federal holiday. This prompted me to look this up and I found that home mail delivery was twice a day to many places until 1950. This letter comes from Mary. Happy Independence day!
Lois is becoming a regular correspondent now. According to the back picture was taken June 21, 1942 and from left to right her brother Billy, Mother, Dad and Lois.
Another letter finally arrives from England. It was opened by a censor and she talks of wartime rations. It makes me realize how much we take for granted today.
Another letter from friend Helen. Two letters arrive on the 30th so I am publishing this one early. Nearing the end of the school year so finals are the topic of conversation as students look forward to summer.
