Another letter from Josephine. Interesting discussion about aircraft and her love for planes. She even mentions that she has joined the Junior air reserve.

It seems that Josephine is feeling a bit homesick for California and the friends she has left behind. She mentions the gas rationing that happened during their journey east. Interesting that she speaks of school not yet starting in October which seems very late to me.

A funny little postcard from Josephine. It must have been difficult for this young girl to move across the country to a new city.

The next letter is again from Josephine. It appears that they are moving to Philadelphia and “motoring” across the country at 40 mph. I am presuming that they are on Route 66. I wonder what the souvenir was that was sent? Maybe the postcard? It was sent separately but arrived on the same day.

Josephine sends a letter and a picture from Los Angeles. She shares that her knitting skills are not her specialty. Can you believe that back in the day they used to teach knitting in school? She is adorable!
